You asked what we do when we encounter a problem. I go to Ravelry, look up the pattern, choose the Projects tab and review knitters’ comments. I often find superknitters have documented the steps after solving.

Thank you so much for sharing your very helpful tip for using Ravelry. Don't you just love the generosity of "superknitters" who share their knowledge. :)

That's great to hear Debbie. It's a delightful pattern and I highly recommend it. The turning the work inside out was a challenge for me but I got there in the end :)

You did it! Turning the work inside out as you did sounds like wizardry. Between this tee and the blue one your brain has been getting quite the knitting workout lately; lovely to see you persevering. 😊

Thank you Tashay, I'm very chuffed to hear you describe my problem solving as wizardry and acknowledging my perseverance :) It certainly was a workout for my brain! Knitting projects that provide challenges are the ones that move me forward in my skills and knowledge to be sure. Merrily knitting rows of knit stitches now which is rather calming.

Loved reading this, Jodie! ❤

Last things first: that plum cake looks delicious and the plate is lovely; and my guess is it would be a tunisian crochet needle for the trivia, though I don't know how they're called... It has to be straight, without a cable, and have one hook or one on each end. Is this it?! 🤓

If I was to give any advice about learning new skills it would be: embrace it! Look at it as an adventure, a journey of discovery. That's one of the things I love about crochet: it's an endless world, full of things to learn, and there will always be something I don't know (yet!). And also, if you feel stuck, don't push it. Just put it to the side for a while, focus on other things, and pick it up another time that the answer will come. Eventually. 😄

Thanks so much Ana, I'm so happy to hear you loved reading this :)

And for having a go at the trivia question, you'll find out next week if your answer is right.

Your suggestions for learning new skills are excellent and so doable. I really love the idea of not pushing it when you face difficulties and leaving it alone for a while, then coming back to your project. Sage advice indeed. :)

Love your socks, the color is wonderful! So sorry you had such confusion on your sweater. I think I would be in the same boat you were in!

Thank you very much. It was such a relief to get to the other side of the confusion and be able to continue as the pattern instructed. I've still got so much to learn! :)

“Which crochet hook creates stitches that resemble rows of knitting?”

I’m pretty sure it’s a Tunisian hook for Tunisian crocheting. I’ve never done it before, but I’d like to learn the method someday.
