Jodie, I enjoy a shadow wrap heel for the speed of it so I use it in about 80% of my socks. Just so you know, I very likely would have forgotten how to read a flat chart myself. Thanks for the reminder...hope I remember it! 😂

Do you have the pattern for the face cloth?

I’m using the CotLin to make facecloths with a free Knit Picks pattern.

It is a beautiful stitch that I would like to try

So much good stuff happening in this newsletter! Thank you for sharing a review of Summer’s book. I want to get back into knitting socks but they feel so tedious after knitting garments. The socks you made for your mom are lovely.

No need to be embarrassed about chart reading. Remembering to read from left to right isn’t intuitive and you’re correct that patterns take this instruction for granted. What’s most important is that you’ve got it down now! 🥰

Jodie, what a lovely post. Thanks for the book review. You are right, charts should carry a small reminder about which direction it should be read. It is quite natural to forget these things if we haven't used them for long. But then the dishcloth is coming out so beautiful. Love the stitch pattern. Yay for not giving up on that one.

The sock book looks amazing!!! Thank you for your review of it.

I really dislike chart reading. I can never get it correct either. I much prefer to have it written out. I wont even use a pattern if it only comes with a chart.
